Zillion TV celebrates deals with The Weinstein Company and more at MIPTV Opening Cocktail

State-of-the-art video-on-demand platform ZillionTV has chosen MIPTV for its global launch. To celebrate the fact, it sponsored last night's MIPTV Opening Cocktail (CEO Mitch Berman - centre - is pictured here with Reed MIDEM's Paul Zilk - right - and Bruce Paisner, of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences).
Underlining the importance of MIPTV to ZillionTV, the company has also announced a new content agreement with The Weinstein Company (TWC). The deal will give ZillionTV access to movies such as The Reader and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
“We are thrilled to have Weinstein come on board as one of our premier partners,” said Mitch Berman, CEO of ZillionTV. “This deal further bolsters the ZillionTV content offering.”
David Spiegelman, TWC’s president of domestic TV and distribution, added: “ZillionTV gives us the opportunity to offer a wide variety of titles, all of which will be prominently fea- tured on its platform.”
ZillionTV provides subscription-free access to an extensive entertainment library, all delivered directly to the TV set via high-speed internet. Aside from TWC, ZillionTV boasts a roster of more than 40 content-providers, in- cluding Disney, Twentieth Century Fox Television, NBC Universal, Sony Pictures and Warner Bros Digital Dis- tribution.
ZillionTV was also Gold sponsor of last night’s International Digital Emmy® Awards. In addition, Berman speaks at tomorrow's panel, On Demand TV: Power Of Choice, Control And Personalisation.
