Laurine Garaude joined Reed MIDEM in 1993 to launch MILIA, the world’s interactive content market, which brought together key players from entertainment (TV, music, games and publishing) and digital technologies and quickly became established as the leading international event for the digital media industries. Laurine was the driving force behind the vision of MILIA for over 10 years creating and launching the MILIA D’OR Awards, the New Talent Competition and the high profile Think Tank conferences. In 2003, Laurine was instrumental in bringing MILIA to MIPTV. She joined Reed MIDEM’s Central Marketing team in 2004. As Director of Customer Relationship Marketing she has been heading the Research and Direct Marketing departments as well as creating and piloting numerous client facing initiatives including the Customer Recognition Programme and the Reed MIDEM quality standards.
Prior to joining Reed MIDEM, Laurine worked in the publishing and music industries. She started her career as a radio producer before moving into book publishing at St. Martin’s Press Inc. in New York City where she was in charge of foreign rights. Laurine then moved to Paris, France, where she joined the Nathan Publishing Group as acquisitions and co-productions editor, where she was in charge of relations with foreign publishing partners and oversaw the production and development of over 50 books per year, publishing strong selling titles in photography, art, travel and lifestyle.
Laurine is a graduate of Yale University. She is married, has 2 daughters and is an accomplished pianist in her spare time.
