Reed MIDEM is part of Reed Exhibitions, one of the world leaders in the organisation of events for specific trades and the general public, with more than 500 events in 30 countries, covering 43 sectors of activity. Reed Exhibitions is part of RELX, a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools for professional and business customers.

Our history

1963 - Bernard Chevry launches the MIPTV programme market in Lyon, France

1965 - The company MIDEM Organisation is founded and MIPTV moves to Cannes

1967 - 1st MIDEM

1982 - Inauguration of the new Palais des Festivals in Cannes, providing more space for MIPTV and MIDEM

1985 - 1st MIPCOM

1988 - Xavier Roy takes over from Bernard Chevry as Chief Executive of the company

1989 - Reed Exhibitions acquires the company and changes the name to Reed MIDEM

1990 - Extension of the portfolio into the real estate sector with the launch of MIPIM 

1993 - 1st MIPJunior

1995 - 1st MAPIC

1998 - 1st MIPDoc

2003 - Paul Zilk replaces Xavier Roy as Chief Executive of Reed MIDEM

2006 - 1st MIPIM Asia in Hong Kong

2014 - 1st MIPIM UK in London

2015 - 1st MIP Cancun in Mexico; 1st MAPIC China Summit in Shanghai

2016 - 1st MIPIM PropTech Summit in New York; 1st MAPIC Italy in Milan

2017 - 1st Esports BAR in Cannes and in Miami; 1st MIP China in Hangzhou

2018 - 1st MAPIC Food & Beverage in Milan (The Happetite); 1st MIPIM PropTech Europe in Paris (Propel by MIPIM Paris)

2020 - Michel Filzi replaces Paul Zilk as Chief Executive of Reed MIDEM

Faced with the Covid-19 pandemic, Reed MIDEM launches online platforms (MIPIM Connect, MIPTV Online+, Midem Digital Edition, MIP China online, Esports BAR+ Americas, MIPCOM Online+ and MIP Cancun Online+).

2021 - Reed MIDEM joins forces with Reed Expositions France to become RX France
